Bhutan, the Land of the Thunder Dragon, is no ordinary place. This is a country where buying cigarettes is illegal, where the rice is red and where chillies aren’t just a seasoning but the entire dish. It’s also a deeply Buddhist land, where men wear a tunic to work, where giant protective penises are painted on the walls of most houses, and where Gross National Happiness is deemed more important than Gross National Product. Tourism in Bhutan is also unique. Visitors famously have to pay a minimum of US$200 per day, making it one of the world’s most expensive countries to visit, but this fee is all-inclusive, you don’t have to travel in a group and you can arrange your own itinerary. What you won’t find in Bhutan is backpacker-style independent travel. |

| Itinerary |
Welcome to your 'The Mountainous Bhutan ' tour, On arrival at Paro International Airport from New Delhi / Kolkata / Kathmandu / Bagdogra you will be transferred to the capital city Thimphu. Afternoon visit the city and evening visit Tashi Chho Dzong(open after office hours). The rest of the evening is at leisure on your own.

Today enjoy a city tour.
After breakfast visit Takin Zoo, National Library, Handicraft Emporium, Bhutanese traditional paper factory, National Memorial Chorten, Buddha statue and Centenary Park located very close to river and evening visit the city for shopping or at leisure.
Rest of the evening is free to enjoy exploring markets on own.

This morning you will proceed on a drive to Punakha via Dochula Pass, stop at 108 Druk Wangyal Chorten from here you could have a panoramic view of the Himalayan mountain range when the weather is clear.
Drive further down to Lamperi stop and explore Royal Botanical Park for few minutes and proceed to old Wangdi town and visit Wangdi Dzong. Drive back the same way and upon reaching Metshina stop and take a short hike to Chimmi Lhakhang temple through the villages and paddy fields. Check in the resorts and late noon visit the majestic Punakha Dzong and rest of the day at leisure.

This morning drive to Paro and on the way visit Paro Dzong located on the rocky outcrop of the steep hillside overlooking both sides of the valley drive back to the town.
After noon visit the old ruins of Drukgyel Dzong, 17th century fortress that used to keep invaders from Tibet and in 1951 the fort was destroyed by fire. The rest of the evening is at leisure on your own.

After breakfast drive till the base of the world famous Tiger's Nest, clings to a sheer, 900m above the ground which is the most popular spiritual heritage sites. There is a belief that the legend Padma Sambhava flew here from Tibet on the back of a tiger.
On the way to town visit Kyichu Lhakhang one of Bhutan's two oldest and most sacred monasteries dating from the introduction of Buddhism in the 7th century. Rest of the day at leisure or visit the town for shopping on your own.
